Instructable: Easy No-Mess Chocolate Chunks From Chocolate Bars

Instructable Link: http://www.instructables.com/id/Easy-Chocolate-Chunks-From-Chocolate-Bars/

How to make easy to clean up no-mess chocolate chunks from bars of chocolate.  This is for all those chocolate chunk recipes, people who have allergies and can only find chocolate bars (cannot find chocolate chips) and those people who would like to make chocolate chunk cookies out of their favorite chocolate bars.    Also is great for melting chocolate in a double boiler, the smaller the chunks the faster the chocolate melts.

I have "kid" tested this with a 4 year old and they could break the bar a few times but I ended up doing most of the work.  Thus kids please have an adult help with this activity.

This may sound like a silly instructable but I made a mess or lost pieces of chocolate to the floor the first few times I made chocolate chunks so I posted this for a Kitchen Skills Contest.

Instructable: Food Processor Shredded Block Cheese

Instructable link:  http://www.instructables.com/id/Food-Processor-Shredded-Block-Cheese/

Shredded cheese is a product filled with additives. Kraft Finely Shredded Mild Cheddar Cheese has an ingredient list of: “Cheddar cheese (pasteurized) milk, cheese culture, salt, enzymes, annatto [color]), potato starch, cellulose powder, and calcium sulfate added to prevent caking, natamycin (a natural mold inhibitor)”on the bag. Who wants to eat all those additives? I do not so I make my own shredded cheese and freeze the “leftovers” for use at a later time. The cheese freezes well for a few months.

This process will show how to shred cheese on a food processor.  This process is easier to clean then hand graters and there is less wasted cheese stuck to the grater.  The product is about equal to a large hand cheese grater the food processor I use does not have a "fine" cheese grater blade but I have not noticed a difference in recipes using larger shredded cheese.  This method is also safer then hand grating if all safety devices on the food processor is working.  I have raked a knuckle or two while hand grating before, so far this is not a problem using the food processor.

Instructable: 3-D Wall Art or Piggy Bank

Instructable Link: http://www.instructables.com/id/3-D-Wall-Art-or-Piggy-Bank/

I currently really like robots and wanted a robot piggy bank, so I drew up a robot in CorelDRAW and Boxit.  I used it to create a 3-D "box".  Added the details to the "box" and a coin slot or hanging hole.  Those who do not have the program Boxit could just reduce the design and scrollsaw the sides. A box with shorter sides would be good as a wall hanging.
